There are people in need and others who want to help. We're looking for both.

Housing the Homeless

We run the Extreme Weather Shelters for Yakima County's Homeless Network, having finished our eigth winter season in 2014 with three shelters.  We also have transitional housing at our S Street Family Hostel and a trauma informed specialized care and education facility for teen girls at our Sunrise House. Feeding Families

We have three food, clothing and diaper banks throughout the County which feed roughly 2000 household weekly food allotments each month. We also have a daily soup and sandwich outreach located at Miller Park which feeds an average of 75 people daily. We have a five acre community garden in Selah to help develop organic gardening skills and provide addition nuitritian beyond our food banks. Learn More >

Mobilizing the Community

We want to help our local communities learn about the effects of intergenerational poverty in terms of hunger and homelessness, and show neighbors how they can help.  Learn More >

Building Relationships

Building relationships is all about Networking with collaboratives and community partners who are either interested in, or are already working on, buidling a safe community for all our neighbors.  We are part of the Homeless Network of Yakima County, Safe Yakima Valley, CSEC (Commercially Sexually Exploited Children) Consortium, the Gang Commission, The Gang Free Initiative, Gang Court, and Rod's House.

We are interested in developing relationships to build capacity solutions and resolve sustainability gaps.   Learn More >

Isaiah 58:6-9

“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:

to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke,

to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?

Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—

when you see the naked, to clothe him, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?

Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear,

then your righteousness will go before you,

and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.

Then you will call, and the LORD will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I. (NIV)
